What's in a Name

In keeping with the electronic "e" theme of all things Internet – email, ebiz, ezine – EfnWeb derives its four-syllable name from, first, placing an "e" before the founder's initials, E-FN, pronounced, ee • ef • en.

Next, the word, Web, has been tacked on to distinguish us as website-development related within a broad category of EFN-named businesses and organizations – Eugene Free Network, European Federation of Nurses, Everest Financial Network and others. The name, EfnWeb, helps us stand apart and better describes what we do.

The name's two parts, Efn and Web, have been joined to form a compound word in "CamelCase" alluding to the code syntax conventions of web programming languages, such as CSS, JavaScript and PHP.

After our first four years in business and commensurate with our growth and goals, in 2008 we filed for California Limited Liability Company status and proudly became, EfnWeb, LLC.
